I got the idea to write “Bleach” after I’d bleached my hair, and the Taylor Swift song “We Are Never, Ever Getting Back Together” came on the radio, and I thought, “Well, I will never, ever bleach my hair again.”
The song details all the things I’ve learned not to do ever again as an empowered womxn, but also pokes fun at all the things we do as gxrls “to stay looking clean, fresh, and effortlessly beautiful.”
